Introducing a puppy to bathing from a young age can prove beneficial as it gradually gets more adapted and comfortable with the idea of a bath when it gets older which ultimately helps to reduce stress for both the pup and you. Generally you can start bathing a puppy after it is 8 weeks old, the amount of time you can bathe varies according to your preference or a special (messy) circumstance but the basic rule is once a month.

To make your pup more comfortable you can distract or provide a reward snack during or after a bath session to enforce a positive attitude towards bathing in your pup. And to make bathing time much easier it is important to choose the right shampoo and conditioner which are suitable for your puppy's fur and skin. Never use shampoos or conditioners recommended for a human as a puppy’s skin is very sensitive and may cause allergic reactions, increased hair shedding and dry skin, so always use bathing products that are specifically made for puppies only.
